The ninth day during dusshera is also the day of the Ayudha Puja. After the slaying of Mahishasura and other demons by Chamundeswari, there was no more use for her weapons. So all her weapons were kept aside and worshipped. Not just that. It is widely believed that Arjuna took back his weapons which he had hidden in a Vani tree in order to lead a life in disguise for the promised period of exile. Anyone who begins or renovates his learning to work on the Vijayadasami day will encounter as much or even more success as Arjuna did in Kurukshetra war.

What To Do On Ayudha Puja?

Worship whatever implements, objects, including home, vehicles you use everyday. It is traditional to place these implements on an altar to the Divine. Simply put, try to see the divine in the tools and objects you use each day, it will help one to see one's work as an offering to God. Use big garlands, lemons, kumkum and turmeric to offer your prayers. Decorate with banana leaves in front of the doors, flowers, apply Haldi and Kumkum on each and every tool.

Consider this an expression of gratitude to God for helping you lead your life with all that you have...
